Bernard Le Courtois has rewritten French breeding history after winning his third age-group championship in Fontainebleau. Breeding one champion is already something very special, but breeding three is something that the majority of breeders don’t even dare to dream about – yet Bernard Le Courtois has achieved what seemed to be impossible, until now. What makes it even more special is that his own-bred mare Katchina Mail (Calvaro Z - Elvira Mail x Laudanum xx), who jumped at 1m60 with Patrice Deleveau, is the dam of two of the champions. Her son Delstar Mail (Utrillo van de Heffinck) won the final for four-year-old stallions and geldings, while another son Catchar Mail (Diamant de Semilly) won the five-year-old final in the same category. The third success came when Le Courtois-bred gelding Diego Mail (Ulmar Mail - Lorna Mail x Fergar Mail) won the final for four-year-old hunters. (Adriana van Tilburg)
