Kyra XVII (Lavall I) the mother of Casall Ask and the last daughter of Maltia (Raimond), has died, marking the end of an era for stamm 890.  She was born in 1995, bred by Elfriede Bornholdt, and purchased as a foal by Wilfried Thomann who had noticed that Kyra's half sister Taura (Lord) produced really good offspring with Caretino. Taura is mother to Cesano I/II, Conally and Crocodile Dandy all full brothers and the last two competed at 1m60.Kyra XVII’s first product is the world-class jumping stallion, Casall. For 12 years Casall has been competing under the saddle of Rolf-Göran Bengtsson, and for their consistent success they were awarded as the best showjumping combination by the FEI in 2014. Kyra also produced the approved stallions Clarence I and II (Carano). 

Kyra XVII died two days after giving birth to a filly by Barcley, who is in good health and being take are of by a foster mare. Earlier this year Kyra XVII had, thanks to embryo transfer, a filly by Uriko.
