Tomorrow, March 21, the ‘king’ of the Blue Hors stable, Don Schufro (Donnerhall - Fiesta x Pik Bube I) will celebrate his 25th birthday. As a sire, he has already joined the ranks of past dressage legends – including his own sire, Donnerhall – and his offspring continue to generate world-class results. His daughter, Weihegold was Olympic individual silver and team gold medallist in Rio 2016, winner of the 2017 World Cup Final, and a triple European champion. Weihegold’s breeder, Inge Bastian, were honoured at the WBFSH-ROLEX awards ceremony in Geneva last December.
Bred by Herbert Meier, and purchased by Blue Hors in 1997, Don Schufro was himself the Danish dressage champion, and a member of the country's bronze-medal-winning team at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games in Hong Kong. He has headed the German dressage index no fewer than 10 times.
