Three exceptional foals were recently awarded at the conclusion of the Warmblood Studbook of Ireland championship, their genetics reflecting a balance between stallions approved by a 'foreign' studbook, and those recognized by WSI. In fact, two of the prize winners were sired by foreigners – Parco and Untouchable – while six were from WSI approved stallions: Ulysses m2s, Herald III, Greenvale Draco, Je t'Aime Flamenco, Cabrio van de Heffinck, and Casall. The overall champion colt and showjumping champion colt was Kindred Spirit PH (Parco - Désir de l'Esprit m2s x Désir du Château), bred by Paul Hughes; overall champion filly and eventing champion filly – Bonmahon Karimah (Herald III - Con Cava x Con Sherry), bred by Richard Fitzgerland; showjumping champion filly – Katydid m2s (Ulysses m2s - Dragonfly m2s x Désir du Château), bred by Martin Howard and Morningside Stud. Four reserve champions were also awarded.
