Ephebe For Ever – gone forever

Ephebe For Ever (Galoubet A - Geisha N x Night and Day xx) and Christian Hermon (FRA)

The magnificent performance stallion Ephebe For Ever (Galoubet A - Geisha N x Night and Day xx) has died at the age of 26 from an attack of colic at the home of his long-time rider, Christian Hermon. For more than five years the pair were stalwarts of the French showjumping team, during which time they recorded some fabulous results: members of the winning Nations' Cup team in Saint Gallen and Dublin (twice), runners-up in the Super League Final in Barcelona, as well as the CSIOs of La Baule, Rotterdam, Lummen... Bred by Gerard Favre, the black giant entered Selle Français breeding in 1997, and was a five-year-old finalist in the French national age-group championships (Le Grande Semaine) in Fontainebleau. With an ISO 174 (0.96)/BSO +3 (0.98) he was a popular breeding stallion, with over 500 offspring registered to date with Selle Français alone – ensuring the perpetuity of this important bloodline.
