Australian showjumper Chris Chugg bought an Oldenburg foal at the studbook’s recent sale in Vechta – ironically, a nephew of his former superstar Vivant. The colt, named Cornet Fuego (Cornet Obolensky - Barones van’t Rybroeck x Fuego du Prelet) was bred by Gebrüder Möller in Germany.

Chugg made headlines with Vivant because of their speed, numerous victories, and the pirouettes they rode at the end of a course. In 2010 they finished seventh in the World Cup Final in Geneva, Switzerland, and had earlier that year represented Australia at the World Equestrian Games in Lexington, KY. Maybe the showjumping world can anticipate perfect pirouettes from Cornet Fuego, emulating his uncle Vivant. (Photos: Vivant/Frieler; Cornet Fuego/Beelitz)
