The French Championship for Selle Français 4 years old has awarded the best in Fontainebleau after two courses.
Young stallion Caprice de Laume (Lando, Dwb and Héroine de Laume by Verdi-SF), born in GAEC de L’Aumeraie, Normandy has won with its owner Anne Sophie Morel. He confirms interesting potential already shown at the end of June when Caprice de Laume finished first in Inter Regional competitions in Auvers. As he's not been approved at the age of 3 he will be presented soon in front of the Selle Français commission for approval.
Placed second, Cicave du Talus (Untouchable, kwpn and Neika du Talus by Voltaire, han) born at Jacques le Boedec's Normand stud farm and belonging to Groupe France Elevage easily jumped two clear rounds with Fabrice Paris.
The winning mare is the black Cosma Diarado, filly of Diarado, (HOLST) and Tecquila des Arcades by Litsam. She belongs to KRF Stud Farm close to Lyon. According to her breeder and rider Claire Fontanel this black mare will probably be sold in the coming days.
In the special category for "non Selle Français, Anglo Arab and Anglo Normand" Volnay de Choc Z, filly of Vivaldi du Seigneur x Galopin du Boele was classed first with Ronan Le Dantec. But all the attention went to a very scopy mare called Marbella AEG (Vigo d'Arsouilles x Balobet du Rouet), born at Aegten Stables in Belgium. Some traders seemed to be very interested in the strength she's shown with rider Jonas Sadoun from Ecuries de Quilly in Caen. Eric Fournier
