Belgian Sport Horse licensing

A total of 18 new stallions were licensed by Belgian Sport Horse (sBs) during their international show in Gesves this past weekend: 15 born in 2014, one in 2013 and two in 2012. Remarkably, the approved three-year-old O’Clooney, was sired by Gemini xx – the Thoroughbred clone of former world-class showjumping gelding Gem Twist – registered with Belgian Warmblood. He is out of Equina van het Heidehof (Riccione). The only sire with multiple offspring was Vigo d’Arsouilles, with Iago des Peupliers (2014: out of Opale des Peupliers x For Pleasure), and Odilon (2014: out of Tirasoto xx x Muhtathir xx). Three of the newly licensed stallions were owned or co-owned by the well-known breeder, Joris de Brabander: Andy Pur VDM Z (Aktion Pur Z - Handy van HD x Tinka’s Boy); as well as the aforementioned O’Clooney and Odilon.
