Amaretto d’Arco (Darco - Tatouage d’Avontuur x Tenor Manciais)

Owned by Lisa Lourie of Spy Coast Farm, and bred by Luc de Snerck in Belgium, the 16-year-old BWP stallion Amaretto d’Arco (Darco - Tatouage d’Avontuur x Tenor Manciais) has succumbed to a bout of colic that required surgical intervention. From some of the best Belgian and French bloodlines, his pedigree was exemplary, as were his manners in the ring. He made a successful Grand Prix debut in Europe at the young age of seven, and two years later he was considered to be one of the world’s elite showjumpers. His first foal crop were on the ground in 2010 and have been showing great talent under saddle. Amaretto is a full brother to Forever d’Arco van ter Linden, ridden by Nicola Philippaerts (BEL). Following his move to the United States, Amaretto was ridden by Spy Coast stable jockey Shane Sweetnam (IRL) with whom he competed in two European championships, a World Cup final. Since 2013 he has been partnered with Kathie Dinan (USA). -
