A great weekend for stallions… Magnificent victory for brilliant stallion Quickly de Kreisker (2004: Diamant de Semilly - Briseis d’Helby x Laudanum xx) under the glass dome of the Grand Palais in Paris over the weekend. With his reins in the hands of Morocco’s Abdelkebir Ouaddar (see photo), Quickly lived up to his name against other remarkable pairings, Scott Brash and Christian Ahlmann, both riding For Pleasure sons, respectively Hello Forever (out of Inella x Nimmerdor) and Epleaser van’t Heike (out of Valentina van’t Heike x Nabab de Reve).Ouaddar's win was a fabulous birthday gift for his trainer, the 80-years-young Marcel Rozier. Quickly de Kreisker was bred by Guillaume Ansquer.
Another stallion victory for the Holsteiner Catwalk IV (2003: Colman - Carna x Corleone) under the saddle of Britain’s Robert Whitaker in the traditional invitational Grand Prix at the conclusion of the Sunshine Tour in Spain. They finished ahead of Jérôme Guery (BEL) riding 10-year-old Belgian Warmblood stallion Grand Cru van de Rozenberg (Malito de Reve - Duchesse van de Rozenberg x Heartbreaker).
In the Toscana Tour during the Arezzo CSI3* Grand Prix in Italy, VDL Glasgow van’t Merelsnest (Nabab de Reve - Wendelina van’t Merelsnest x Darco) made it a trio of stallion wins with Dutchman Jur Vreiling ahead of Cassio Rivetti riding the 11-year-old mare Fine Fleur du Marais (Toulon - Cento’s Candide BB x Cento). Glasgow is out of a full sister to McLain Ward's former superstar, Sapphire. - Stud for Life
