The 2016 Longines-FEI World Cup showjumping final was a triumph for both Steve Guerdat (SUI) and Westfalian-bred horses – with three inside the top four, including the winning gelding, 10yo Corbinian. However, this result was also remarkable for one popular stallion whose name appeared as the sire no fewer than three times in the top four: Corbinian (1st), Cornet d’Amour (3rd) and Cornado NRW (4th). The male stranglehold was also evident with four stallions in the top six, including Emerald NOP (2nd), Cornado NRW (4th), All Star 5 (5th) and Taloubet Z (6th). Additional names were added to the stallion roster totalling 10 of the top 15 places: Vagabond de la Pomme (8th), Qlassic Bois Margot (9th) and VDL Groep Verdi TN NOP (11th), H&M Forever d’Arco Ter Linden (13th), Chardonnay 79 (14th, and Giljandro van de Bosrand (15th).
